Ciapek Dog Soft Toy
Inspired by the beloved official pet mascot of the Polish 305 Squadron during World War II.
Approx. height: 21cm.
Age suitability: 3+ years.
The soft toy represents Ciapek, who was adopted as the official pet mascot of the Polish 305 Squadron during World War II. He became such a beloved part of the squadron that he only understood Polish. Ciapek flew on many bombing missions with the crew and was even recorded in the flight log as a “passenger.” He had his own oxygen bottle, which was opened at about 3,000 meters altitude, and wore a parachute harness attached to a crew member’s harness for safety. For each mission, Ciapek received a small wooden bomb charm, hanging on his collar, with up to eight charms worn proudly.
Made exclusively for the Royal Air Force Museum.
